We follow her out to the car where she’s in a bit of a hurry to go. She gets in, pumps the gas and spins the cold, damp engine over. It doesn’t start and it’s not sounding like it’s going to start either. She’s careful to not pump it too much but she might not be pumping it enough. It’s cold and damp Hana is walking out to the bug she’s carrying her purse she’s going for a drive in the bug, that is if she can get it to start. Hana pushes the clutch in with her left foot as she gives the gas pedal a few pumps to prime the carburetor. Hana turns the ignition key the engine doesn’t even try to catch, she doesn’t want to pump the gas pedal to much she might flood the carburetor, from time to time she pumps the brake pedal with her right foot she pushes the clutch in and out a few times. Hana pumps the gas pedal more, the engine wont even cough or backfire it refuses to start, hard to tell the last time the bug was started and driven. Hana pleads with the bug to start that does no good.
As Hana is cranking and pumping the bug’s gas pedal she’s pumped the gas pedal so much her right foot must be a swamp by now. Shish also gets video from the right side of her arm down to her right foot as she cranks and pumps the bugs gas pedal, the battery is getting weaker and weaker with each turn of the ignition key as the starter is spinning slower and slower.
After a little over five minutes Hana gets the engine started she revs it for about half a minute she tries to let the engine idle when the engine died on her she goes back to cranking and pumping this time she holds the gas pedal all the way to the floor she revs the engine. This makes Hana really happy now she can go on her drive.
