Skylar is stopping by work to check up on a few things before meeting her girls for a night out. She finishes up her work stuff and hops into the Volvo - but it won't start. There are a few instances in which it starts, but she might be running a tad late to dinner with her friends. Tanyia is trying to get the Volvo started in this clip. She tries manipulating the choke so it will start quicker, but nothing seems to be working. She pumps the gas and gets somewhat irate, stomping on the gas pretty hard a few times. In the end, she gives up because she doesn't have the patience to deal with it today. view more.

Tiffany is ready for a game of tennis, so she loads the tennis rackets into the car and then cranks (and cranks) the Volvo for a short while, notating that didn't work to well. She pauses to apply some lip gloss. Then she cranks it again; it starts, but it's not sounding very well. She revs it mildly for a short time to keep it from dying. She then starts driving to the tennis court. In clip 2, the car stalls at a dead end, and she is pumping the holy shit out of the pedal with her bare foot, cranking away. She pumps the gas so hard, the pedal breaks off. She has to get down in the floor board to fix it; then it's back to trying to start the car. In clip 3, she finally gets it started again and revs it some more to make sure it's good to go. She decides to go back home in case the car acts up again. view more.

Gina is leaving the mall while talking to her friend on the phone. She mention that she's waiting on her check, so in the mean time, she's driving the Volvo. She's still briefly talking to her friend when she first tries to get the car started (with a broken gas pedal). As time passes and the car still won't start, Gina gets more frustrated and lights up a cigarette. She talks out loud a lot regarding her bad luck. view more.

Skylar walks to the Volvo and tries to crank it up. After a small battle, it starts and she revs it a few quick times. This girl has never driven a stick-shift before, so she tries her best to get it going. She does very well for her first day of driving a manual, though it does stall on her several times. She gets freaked out at the end of the 1st clip because the car starts making weird noises. She gets a little more vocal then. Clip 2 starts with the car stalled on the side of the road, and she has to struggle longer to get it started this time. view more.

This day of filming did not turn out like planned. Veronica was going to get the Cadillac stuck; instead, the transmission decided to go out! Clip 1 shows her driving around, trying to get stuck and find a few patches here and there. There are lots of footwell shots. Clips 2 and 3 show her getting stuck here and there . . . and then transmission takes a dump. view more.

She battles with the temperamental Coronet while talking occasionally to her baby, reassuring him that everything's going to be fine and she'll get them moving soon. Xaria wants to take the Camaro to class, but Tanyia would rather take the Volvo because it's raining. Xaria knows the Volvo is temperamental, so she knows they'll wind up being late for class if they take it. Tanyia insists, gets in the Volvo. After a short cranking spurt, it starts, and Xaria turns on the radio. They goof off while Tanyia drives - until the Volvo dies. It's not long before they're on their way again, but it looks like they might miss class today - especially when it dies a second time! view more.

This video starts with tailpipe shots of the Volvo as Gina tries to get it started. Then it swaps to footwell shots; she finally gets it started and does several minutes of revving (in sneakers and then in her footie socks). It dies on her while she's revving in her socks, so she does a little cranking in her white footie socks and then some cranking barefoot.
