1468 – Vivian’s Jeep Won’t Start While Little Billy Watches

Scenario
Scene 1 (2 minutes)

Vivian, a nursery teacher. During the lunch break, she needs to go to pick up a starting fluid from a car store near the school because her old car gives her a lot of problems during cold weather and there is a car store near the school that she can go to right now. The Jeep is notoriously difficult to start, so she needs extra time to get it running. The scene opens with Vivian sitting in her car, trying to start it.

The camera captures the scene from a short distance, positioned near the corner of the nursery school showing the car from right side.

Vivian turns the key, but the engine struggles to turn over. The car makes weak cranking noises as the battery begins to fail.

After two minutes of attempts, the camera pauses.

Scene 2 (1 minute)

Vivian returns to the school, walking through the door and entering the classroom where the children are gathered.

The camera adopts the perspective of one of the children, positioned at their eye level, focusing on the classroom door as Vivian walks in.

As soon as she steps into the room, Vivian smiles and addresses the children.

“Well, the car decided to be a bit stubborn today, so I’m back! I’ll give it some time before trying again—I don’t want to flood the engine.”

The camera holds for a few seconds

The scene cuts to Vivian now seated on a chair or couch, legs crossed. She looks at the children with a playful smile.

“Alright, I’m off to give it another shot. Wish me luck!”

Scene 3 (4 minutes)

She climbs back into the car and resumes cranking the engine. The camera moves in closer to the windshield, capturing a close-up of Vivian’s face. Her expression reveals a patient smile as she keeps trying, her tongue playfully sticking out, hinting at her determination and the slight struggle she’s feeling.

A few moments later, Vivan’s body is slumped slightly forward, leaning against the steering wheel with her head resting on it, as she turns the key in the ignition.

One of the children (Billy) exists the school and approaches the car from behind. As Vivian cranks the car, the camera (Billy) walks slowly to the car from behind while she cranks.

The camera slowly zooms in on Vivian, as if it’s “Billy” curiously approaching the car from behind, peering at her actions. The camera moves closer to the driver’s side window (the driver’s door are open), curiously observing Vivian’s struggle.

Vivian groans softly, her head is now resting on the wheel and her arms stretched out lazily over the wheel while she cranks the key again. Vivian looks startled, turning her head towards the camera and saying:

“Hey, Billy. The car’s just being a little stubborn today. It doesn’t want to start”

Vivian keeps cranking. The battery is becoming weaker.

Scene 4 (2 minutes)

Vivian keeps cranking. The camera is now inside the car. She keeps saying “please start!!!”

After some time, the camera is in the front but inside the car. She keeps cranking but the car won’t start.

Scene 5 (1 minute)

Billy (the camera) walks away slowly from the scene while watching her struggling.
